Caring for Your Lei

Upon Arrival:

  • Remove lei carefully from packaging
  • Mist lightly with cool water
  • Store immediately in refrigerator (not freezer)

Daily Care:

  • Keep refrigerated when not wearing
  • Mist lightly with water 2-3 times daily
  • Handle gently to preserve delicate blooms

Wearing Your Lei:

  • Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before wearing
  • Drape gently around neck or wear haku on head
  • Return to refrigerator promptly after use

Lifespan:

  • Fragrant lei (plumeria, pikake, tuberose): 2-3 days with proper care
  • Non-fragrant lei (orchids): 3-5 days with proper care
  • Green foliage lei (maile, ti): 5-7 days with proper care

Caring for Fresh Flower Bouquets

Upon Arrival:

  • Open box immediately
  • Remove packing materials carefully
  • Locate care card with preservative packet

Preparation:

  • Cut stems at 45-degree angle (for maximum water absorption)
  • Use sharp scissors or knife for clean cuts
  • Remove any leaves that will sit below water line

Display:

  • Place in clean vase with cool water
  • Add preservative packet to water
  • Display away from direct sunlight and heat
  • Change water every 2-3 days

Caring for Loose Blooms

Upon Arrival:

  • Remove blooms from packaging
  • Cut stems at angle immediately
  • Place in cool water with preservative

Creative Uses:

  • Float in bowls for centerpieces
  • Scatter on tables for decoration
  • Fill flower girl baskets
  • Create your own mini lei arrangements

Storage Tips

  • Temperature: 36-40°F (refrigerator temperature)
  • Humidity: Mist regularly to maintain moisture
  • Never freeze flowers
  • Keep away from fruits (ethylene gas causes wilting)
